1 Cup Flour 1/4 Cup Vegetable Shortening 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1 Egg, Well Beaten 1/2 Teaspoon Salt 2 Cups Apple, Chopped 3/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon 1 Cup Walnuts, Coarsely Chopped 1 Cup Sugar
Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and sugar. Cut in shortening. Add egg and mix until well blended. Fold in apples and walnuts. Bake in greased 8x8 pan for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla sauce.
