"I had a friend who was a clerk at Kingwood Market. Somebody had been shopping for the ingredients for this salad, and dropped the recipe on the flour. It was kept at the counter in the lost and found, but it was never claimed. So she took the recipe home, tried it herself, and loved it. She told me about it and passed it along to me. Your Dad [Stephen Ferre] loves it." - Jean Hansen
"Strange ingredients, but a really tasty salad. They use to serve something similar out at Mt. Hermon." - Calla Ferre
