Surprise Meringues

3 Egg Whites 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/8 Teaspoon Cream Of Tartar 1 Cup Miniature Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
3/4 Cup Sugar 1/4 Cup Chopped Pecans
1/8 Teaspoon Salt

Beat eggs whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, salt and vanilla; beating until stiff peaks form and sugar is dissolved (5 to 8 minutes). Fold in chips and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 300 degrees or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets oven. Store in airtight container. Makes 4 dozezn.
