Ruth's Orange-Cinnamon
Christmas Cookies

2 Cups Flour, Sifted 1 Egg, Separated
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder 1 Teaspoon Orange Rind, Shredded
1 Cup Sugar 1 12 Oz Package Chocolate Chips
3 Teaspoons Cinnamon 1/2 Cup Nuts, Chopped
1/2 Cup Butter 2/3 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Shortening 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon

Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and cinnamon. Add butter, shortening, egg yolk, and orange rind. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Shape into 1-inch balls and dip in slightly beaten egg white and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees.
